About Coach Johnathan Willis

Former assistant coach at Liberty University (2005, 2014-2016) and former head men’s volleyball coach at Liberty. During his coaching tenure at Randolph, he maintained his relationship to Liberty, helping organize, facilitate and run clinics for Liberty's team camp from 2004-13.

Willis spent seven seasons (2007-15) as head women's volleyball coach at Randolph College in Lynchburg. In 2013, Willis' WildCats went 12-11, good for the program's first winning record since the 1997 campaign. While at Randolph, he was in charge of recruiting, fundraisers, finances, equipment purchasing, scheduling, film analysis, player development and coaching staff. He recruited and coached student-athletes who hold program records in over 20 categories. Willis also began and led a faculty and staff Bible study on campus.

Willis spent six seasons, 2005-11, as head coach of Liberty's club men's volleyball program. The team went 20-8 in 2006-07, placing second in the EIVA Southern Conference. His team also earned a third-place finish at the NCVF National Championships in 2010. During 2005, Willis was an assistant coach at Brookville High School, helping guide the Bees to a district championship and regional runner-up showing. Willis coached the Heart of Virginia club volleyball team for three years, 2006-08, during which time he led the HOV 16U Navy Team.

He has vast experience as a clinician, both at the high school and college level. Willis has served as a clinician at Liberty's camps, while also teaching at high school camps both locally and throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
